Gudheg is the typical food of Central Java, especially Yogyakarta. It’s made from jackfruit, cooked in coconut milk. Gudheg eaten with rice and served with thick coconut milk (javanese: areh), chicken, eggs, tofu and spicy sauce named sambal goreng krecek. Hope someday I can post about how to cook gudeg.
In the evening, a lot of Gudeg offered along Malioboro, Yogyakarta. The buyers enjoy gudeg while sitting cross-legged on mats. Sometimes, the buskers come to sing two or more songs to entertain. It is very interesting.
The people in this picture are my friends. We ate gudeg together after doing a photo session at zero kilometer point of Yogyakarta.
Gudeg paling enak itu buatan Mbah Utiiiii…. sampe2 di setiap ada acara gudegnya Mbah Uti yang paling sering di request… Sayangnya yg bs buat cuma Mbah Uti.. ╯︿╰

dulu kalau makan gudeg malam sukanya di depan gardena, bukanya dari jam 9 malam ampe pagi kalau gak di depan gedung apa yah itu lupa sih pokoknya gak jauh dari pos polisi perempatan demangan jln solo….ah lupa gedung itu, yg pernah kebakaran juga sih dulu #padahal dekat kost malah lali#
bioskop regent dan empire.. warungnya di utara jalan ya?
lali aku gedung apa tapi ingat gambarannya di otak hehehe apa ndak gedung hero yah?? kalau ke belakang dikit kampus akprind. pokoknya jualannya dipinggir jalan raya jln solo….gak jauh dari perempatan demangan itu, jalan kaki dari kost gak nyampe 10 menit

banyak perubahan yah jogja sekarang, semakin padat dan macet…kemarin pas kesana begitu sih kesannya gak kek dulu pas tinggal disana
kalau pagi sarapan gudeg beli nya depan elok pasar demangan…enak tuh yg kualan mbah2…dedi kangen aku ama mbah itu soale mbah itu baik banget klu ngasih aku gudeg mesti akeh hehe

maybe it’s the same as me.. I never feel comfortable when I eat using fork and knife.. I prefer spoon or even using my hands.. looks silly ya.. 😀

I’ve eaten that in the Philippines. Coconut milk and unripe jackfruit, with pork or shrimps. Sometimes they add mung beans with the jackfruit. I love asian food.

As far as I know there are two kinds of Gudeg, Mas. Gudeg basah and Gudeg kering.
