A Journey From Banyuwangi Towards Bangkalan

After two days in Banyuwangi, we continue the journey to Bangkalan. It is a small town located in Madura Island. We don’t have to use a ferry to across the sea to go there, because there is a bridge which connected the Java and Madura island. The name is Suramadu bridge. It is the longest bridge in Indonesia.

According to the google map, Bangkalan can be reached in about 9 – 10 hours from Banyuwangi. In fact, we need about 15 hours. Here is the story…

Around 9 am, we left the hotel. We consist of eight people, who were divided in two cars. Just as I worry about, the cars those run less than an hour a suddenly stop in Ketapang, the beach bordering the strait of Bali. I saw friends of mine go out from the car bring their cameras. This is the consequence of traveling with people who love photography. Where there is an interesting view, they will stop to take pictures. It happens many times, so that we were late getting Bangkalan.

These are some pictures that I took in Ketapang.

At noon, we stopped again in Panji, a place between Banyuwangi – Situbondo. While waiting for my friends to pray Dhuhr, I hung out in a coffee shop and shot some pictures.

In East Java, there are many traditional coffee shops where they serve delicious coffee.

No need a pack. Even buying one cigarette also being served

After finished our coffee, we continued the journey. However, only about an hour drive, we stopped again for lunch. It was in Jalan Raya Pasir Putih, Situbondo. The restaurant was at the seaside. Therefore, I used the opportunity to walk around looking for some interesting objects. Sadly, the sky was so cloudy, so that I could not get a beautiful sea view.

Well, after that I could not photograph anything because I replace my friend to drive the car. The journey continues until we arrived in Surabaya. In this city we had to argue to determine the place we’ll stay. I suggested to stay in Surabaya, then crossed over to Bangkalan in the next morning. Nevertheless, other friends prefer to across the Suramadu bridge tonight and stayed in Bangkalan.

So sorry, this is the best photo I could capture from the moving car

You know, after had some coffee, we did not find a vacant hotel at Bangkalan, so WE WENT BACK ACROSS TO SURABAYA and stay there. hehehe.. so silly.. 😀

Just a lovely moment for her. 🙂
